About the course
Aim
The aim of the course is to give the students a theoretical and practical basis for computerized processing and analysis of digital images. After the course the student shall be able to:
- construct and use filters in the frequency domains, as well as explain the connection between a digital image and its Fourier spectrum.
- describe and implement methods for image segmentation and image restoration
- perform and describe morphological operations
- describe different methods for representation of regions and contours in images, as well as the principles of pattern recognition.
- apply and explain convolutional neural networks and deep learning for image processing and image analysis
Content
Image acquisition and properties of sensors and cameras. The Fourier transform and filtering in the frequency domain. Image restoration and reconstruction. Morphological operations. Segmentation.
