About the course
Aim
After completing the course the student should be able to
- write a specification for an analog system
- design a system consisting of components and printed circuit board
- validate the system function with simulation and measurement
- order components and assemble the system
- correct errors and suggest improvements to the system.
Content
The course deals with aspects of analogue design such as
- design of an analog system
- choice of circuit structure
- design of power supply
- dimensioning of component values
- design with operational amplifiers
- component selection with respect to electrical properties, cost, and size
- design of a printed circuit board
- methods for packing-efficiency
- ordering components and a printed circuit board
- soldering and surface mount technology
- assembly and validation of analogue systems.
