About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- redogöra för grundläggande naturgeografiska begrepp och processer
- redogöra för olika geodata och karttyper som används inom naturgeografi
- tolka och analysera landskap med avseende på identifikation av naturgeografiska förutsättningar och processer
- diskutera faktorer bakom naturliga och mänskligt påverkade miljö- och klimatförändringar
- kommunicera resultat från naturgeografiska analyser
Content
I kursen behandlas jordens sfärer; atmosfären, biosfären, litosfären och hydrosfären. I kursen redogörs för hur processer i dessa sfärer interagerar samt hur de har förändrats över tid och rum. Exempel på naturgeografiska begrepp och processer som behandlas är klimatklassificering, klimat- och landskapsförändring, vegetationszoner samt endogena och exogena processer. I kursen fokuseras också på hur dessa processer analyseras och tolkas på olika skalor med hjälp av olika vetenskapliga metoder, geodata och karttyper.
