About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande på avancerad nivå kunna:
- muntligt och skriftligt redogöra för och tillämpa kvalitativa och kvantitativa forskningsmetoder som används inom aktuell empirisk psykologisk forskning
- tolka och utvärdera forskningsresultat
- tillämpa de forskningsetiska regler som gäller för psykologisk forskning
- använda relevant datainsamlingsmetod i relation till en forskningsfråga, samt kunna problematisera och resonera kring dess för- och nackdelar
- tillämpa statistikprogram och transkribera kvalitativa data
- bearbeta och tolka data med hjälp av statistiska analysmetoder

Content
I kursen behandlas och fördjupas kunskaper i metod inom psykologiområdet. Stor vikt läggs vid aktuell empirisk forskning samt vid praktiskt hanterande av insamlade data av kvantitativ och kvalitativ karaktär. Praktiska färdigheter i att transkribera kvalitativa data och genomföra statistiska beräkningar med statistikprogram ingår. Utöver de praktiska övningarna ingår tolkning av publicerad forskning. Kursen är uppsatsförberedande och syftar till att ge metodologiska verktyg inför examensarbetet.
