About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna:
- planera statistiska undersökningar utifrån givna frågeställningar och populationer
- välja och tillämpa lämpliga urvalsmetoder
- skatta parametrar i ändliga och oändliga populationer utifrån en given urvalsmetod
- identifiera, reflektera över, samt vidta åtgärder för olika typer av fel som kan förekomma i undersökningar
Content
I kursen behandlas planering och design av statistiska undersökningar. Specifikt behandlas observationsstudier och experimentella studier. Begrepp som tas upp inkluderar kausalitet, validitet, reliabilitet, mätfel, datainsamling och pilotstudier. Dessutom behandlas totalundersökningar och urvalsundersökningar. Slumpmässiga och icke-slumpmässiga urval, så som obundet slumpmässigt urval, systematiskt urval, stratifierat urval, klusterurval, kvoturval och bekvämlighetsurval tas upp. Vidare behandlas olika typer av allokeringar, val av urvalsstorlekar, skattningar av populationsparametrar, felkällor och imputering.
