About the course

Aim

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:

  • independently work on an assigned cognitive science assignment of an investigative, development or research nature,
  • produce a longer cohesive scientific text in writing,
  • present a larger work orally,
  • critically review and discuss a scientific work that is presented orally and in writing.

Content

Within the course, students plan and implement a comprehensive cognitive science work. This work is carried out in an independent manner and include forming of an orientation, purpose, questions, appropriate theories, empirical perspectives, approaches, methods and techniques, as well as reflecting on the process and product realized in the development of knowledge. The work is supported by introductory and recurring seminars and ongoing supervision. The oral and written argument for the chosen direction and approach is also central to the course. The course also includes reviews of, and opposition on, other students' work.
