About the course
Aim
The course will provide basic insight in optimization, especially optimization of linear, nonlinear and integer problems with applications in transportation. The course will also give an understanding for how statistical analysis can be used for applications in transportation.
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- Formulate optimization models for selected transportation problems
- Explain assumptions and theory behind different type of optimization models and algorithms related to transportation
- Use a standard software tool for solving and analyzing optimization problems
- Explain assumptions and theory behind different type of statistical models and methods related to transportation
- Use a standard software tool for analyzing statistical data in transportation
Content
Optimization modelling in transportation, linear programming, sensitivity analysis, network and integer optimization, selected nonlinear optimization methods, software tool for optimization analysis
