      About the course

      Aim

The course aims at providing knowledge of methods and principles for building mathematical models for dynamic systems. Properties of models are also studied by means of simulation. After completed course the student should be able to:

      • using physical relations to model mechanical, electrical and flow systems, and combinations of these, by building bond graphs, block diagrams and DAE models
      • identify models of real systems using classical system identification and machine learning-based methods and analyse the properties of the estimated models
      • analyse numerical methods and their properties
      • model and simulate mechanical and electrical systems with the help of computer tools Simulink and OpenModelica
      • Identify a model of a real system by choosing experiment setup, post processing of data, model structure and validation
      • write an analytical technical report in English.

      Content
