About the course
Aim
After the course the student will be able to
- Describe common aerodynamic concepts and phenomena, as well as how fundamental parameters such as lift and drag are influenced by geometry and flow conditions.
- Apply theoretical relationships and select appropriate methods for different flow scenarios.
- Use numerical models to perform basic simulations of aerodynamic problems.
- Analyze and critically evaluate results from, for example, numerical and analytical calculations, and reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of the applied methodology.
- Present the completed work in a clear and scientific manner.
Content
Introduction, basic equations, flow around airfoils, wings and other objects, viscous and inviscid flow, boundary layers, incompressible and compressible flow.
