About the course
Aim
Main objective is for students to develop proficiency with design strategies aimed at improving sustainability through impacting the everyday life: behavior, practices, habits, activities, life styles. After completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Articulate the different approaches to designing a sustainable everyday life,
- Design research set-ups for studying everyday life interactions with designed interventions
- Articulate design approaches based on insights gained from research into (un)sustainable everyday life.
Content
The course will explore multiple perspectives (e.g psychological, sociological) on users and their activities, and how design interventions may improve their sustainability. This will include multiple design approaches (e.g eco-feedback, nudging, scripting, forced functionality).
