About the course
Aim
It is important that you acquire a general mathematical certainty and reach a stable foundation for further studies. The goal is that, after completing the course, you should be able to
- Carry out problem solving and calculations related to the three areas of the course.
- Explain and justify solutions using relevant concepts and clear reasoning.
Content
The content is divided into three areas
- Matrix calculus, determinants, and systems of linear equations, including the least-squares method for handling insolvable systems of equations.
- Geometry: vector calculus, scalar and vector product, the projection formula, basis, ON basis, coordinates and basis change, component decomposition, lines and planes, area and volume.
- Linear Mappings: Mapping matrix and basis shift, eigenvalues and eigenvectors with application to systems of differential equations, diagonalization with application to matrix power and geometric interpretation of linear mappings.
