          About the course

          Aim

On completion of the course, the students should be able to: - identify issues within organisations that need to be studied further and formulate these as research issues - design a study and thereby demonstrate methodological awareness - collect and structure data that fits the issue defined by the research issues - analyse the data based on the framework designed by the student - draw conclusions from the analysis that can answer the set research issues - evaluate other essays on the basis of being able to demonstrate strengths and weaknesses and give proposals on relevant improvements of these

          Content

The aim of the course is that the students should develop and increase their ability to independently and in a scholarly manner process business economic problems and in that way deepened their knowledge in business economic field. By studying a business economic problem via an empirical study, students are given an opportunity to convert their theoretical knowledge that they have obtained earlier in the education into practical action. The students should the choose, define and write an essay with an essay subject belonging to the field of business economics. The students may freely choose between writing a more traditional theoretical essay or carrying out an independent investigation for a company or an organisation in Sweden, within the EU or another place in the world. The essays are written in teams of 2-3 students and belongs to a peer learning group of normally six essays that all are supervised by the same supervisor.
