About the course
Aim
Efter avslutad kurs ska den studerande kunna
- identifiera och beskriva olika teoretiska perspektiv inom freds- och konfliktforskning
- redogöra för kulturella aspekter på internationella konflikter
- redogöra för hur sociala, kulturella, ekonomiska och ekologiska faktorer formar och samspelar med internationella konflikter
- tillämpa ett kritiskt kulturanalytiskt perspektiv vid freds- och konfliktstudier
Content
I kursen behandlas både klassisk och samtida litteratur på området freds- och konfliktforskning och relaterar detta till globaliseringens sociala och kulturella processer. I kursen ges också verktyg för teoretiskt tänkande, och analyseras de olika antaganden och utgångspunkter som ligger till grund för olika perspektiv inom freds och konfliktforskning. Stor vikt läggs vid att lära sig använda ett kritiskt kulturanalytiskt perspektiv vid studier av internationella konflikter.
